 "We're Making Dreams A Reality . . ."

Adrienne Ja'Net Dugas was born on August 21, 1979, in Long Beach, California.

When you enter into God's rest and you are at peace with Him, the quality and value of life is not measured by longevity.  It is rather measured by the lives we touch through our service to God and fellow brothers and sisters.  Adrienne, early in life, had grasped this truth and took great pleasure in helping and bringing joy to family, friends and all who she came in contact.

She joined the St. Mark Baptist Church of Long Beach and was baptized at an early age.  Adrienne maintained an active membership in the Sunday School Department and as both a student and student helper in St. Mark's Children Church.

She attended Faye Ross Jr. High in Cerritos and was a seventh grade honor student.  She was a member of the band and girl's basketball team.

Adrienne, in her quiet manner, epitomized the Philippians' scripture that requires us to "Do nothing through strife and vain glory."  To learn of her good deeds, you generally had to learn of them from someone other than herself.  Adrienne had a genuine love and care for people, not out of a desire for recognition, but, because it was her gift from God to share with others.  Through sharing with people and her love for God, the quality and value of their life reached the pinnacle of God's purpose for her on earth.  Adrienne departed this life for a new life with the Master in in Paradise on February 17, 1992.

The Adrienne J. Dugas Memorial Scholarship Fund honors the memory of Adrienne and continues the spirit of her desire to touch a life by being helpful to someone.
